Popular Culture

Popular Culture means the influence of other peoples' ideas, suggestions, and thouoghts on another group. These negative ideas and thoughts undermine the morals, traditions, and standards of parents for their children at an early age. These ideas come through the medium of radio, magazines, books, as well as television.
However, positive ideas should be exploited in particular. As Americans, we have the responsibility of exporting products of good or exceptional quality, which includes popular culture. Although the consumer is somewhat responsible for what he or she consumes, they should not shoulder the burden entirely.
The people who author the scripts for books, magazines, radio, and television should be held accountable to the export regulations for what they produce. An example of good quality telivision is the show, "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?"

I agree with what you said about how it is important for us Americans to make sure we send off a good quality. Its also true we send off popular culture all the time threw books, magazines or even the radio.

I fully agree with your point about how those in charge of the distribution of how popular culture is channeled should be held accountable for what is put out there for all to view. Unfortunately we live in a world where the almighty dollar wins out so it is up to the parents and families to monitor what our youth see and hear.

Mattie I agree with you on this also with the publishers and what they are putting out... It makes it hard when for example publishers put out video games that are for children but they are not appropriate for a child to be playing and that is where the producers are at fault. But then again the parents can be at fault for allowing their children to play these so it is more or less a team effort with the producers, and the buyers.

I agree that today's society has put a great deal of pressure on the youth. Life is no longer a father and mother values and morals. Popular culture is like you say everywhere at the doctor's the checkout, school. It is amazing what your child can read in one magazine and think it is true.
