argumentative writing

Argumentative writing gives a person a chance to discuss his or her point of view about a particular subject. An example would be my desire to write career stories for young children. I strongly feel that they should start thinking about careers early, say in kindergarten and first grade. This will give them a chance to think about a certain career, change their minds, and explore the many possibilities and options open to them. It would also give them new ideas for some unusual career choices; such as a smokologist, vulcanologist, or a taxidermist. Along with these different careers, I will include some well known ones, attorney, doctor, teacher, biologist, and nurse. I will introduce vocabulary words related to each topic or career.

I don't have the e-mail addresses of the other students in my group, can you help me get those of the ones in my group? Mattie C. [we did the milk chocolate candy].

I love your idea about writing books geared toward specific careers for younger kids. There is such a push now to incorporate the Michigan Career Pathways in each content area. Books like these would be a tremendous asset for a classroom teacher.
